Tonkatsu restaurant

Ordered a pork gyoza ramen with black garlic broth. Very delicious and the price is reasonable. Highly recommended.

Great katsu! Great atmosphere! Small but authentic-feeling of what would imagine the experience in Japan would be similar to. Not much seating but definitely worth it if you can get a seat as there is a good selection of different types of katsu curries as well as other options too. Serve alcohol including sake and other Japanese drinks also.

Great food and service! Would highly recommend.We started with the sushi which was good value for the price point. The prawn roll was really enjoyable and each piece had a different piece of fish on it.The mains were really strong with the chicken katsu being really crispy and the salmon teriyaki being really flavourful. I would recommend asking for some katsu curry sauce on the side to have with the chicken as it can get a little dry.The mochi was very good and had a great balance of sweetness and richness.

The katsu curry was a little spicier than a normal katsu curry but was still really good. It’s great to find somewhere doing proper pork katsu in Scotland because for some reason other places do chicken.The pork gyoza’s were good too with a tonkatsu style dipping sauce rather than the usual vinegar based.The salt and pepper chips should really be salt and chilli chips and were fantastic. The portion was huge so definitely one for sharing.The tempura avacado was good with a light batter. It came with a fairly tasteless dipping sauce.The place is tiny with only bar stool seating. It opened for lunch at 12 and was full by about 12:30 so you might need to wait.Overall really good and I will be back when I get a craving for katsu.

Basically we go to Japan every year, even more then once a year. I really like Japanese pork katsu. Actually it is deep fried pork chop coated with Japanese panko breadcrumbs.Based on the reviews I booked a table with my friend. I ordered Iberico pork premium katsu and my friend ordered pork katsu don. Just compared to Japanese restaurants in UK, It seems that there’s lack of food preparation and marinates for the pork meat. My pork chop size is tiny small, seems overcooked and the meat texture is bit hard, not crispy and tasteless. £15.50 is overpriced for my dish.2 stars for the Japanese beer and nice staff.Disappointed, yes but it’s common for Japanese restaurants or Asian restaurants in UK because almost cope with foreigner taste only.There’s no Japanese work in this restaurant. No return.Nowadays it’s easy to make katsu at home. Or find nice real Japanese restaurants in UK.

The best thing we ate in Glasgow was definitely here. This was the first time we tried Japanese katsu curry. Options of fried meat (there was tofu as well), served with Japanese curry and rice or udon noodles. We tried it both with noodles and rice. I loved both versions. Udons were so juicy with the curry. We had duck and prawn katsu curry plates. They were amazingly delicious and filling. Since we got a menu deal; we first had the miso soups, which also tasted very good. They had different beer options too; I enjoyed the Singapore ones we had. This place is a must go in Glasgow. I am grateful that we got to know this beautiful dish “katsu curry” through this place. When we came back to Oslo, we both golden curry and made it at home as well:-)

One of the best katsu curry me and my friend has ever had! We popped in during lunch time, the place wasn’t very big but have plenty seats.Super cosy atmosphere! We ordered chicken breast katsu and pork tonkatsu, they came with miso soup. The tonkatsu was crispy and tender, curry is amazing, big portion size too. They also have a lunch deal, Definitely recommend this place, will come back soon!This is my new favourite place to eat, I also tried the seaweed salad, prawn katsu and mix tempura, so good, the tempura was so crispy!

Honestly one of if not the best pork katsu curries that I’ve ever had, which includes ones I’ve had in Japan. Pork was cooked perfectly and very tasty. I also loved the spicier curry sauce which was so tasty!

We ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry, seaweed salad, and chicken dumplings. All the food was delicious. I would have liked to try the avacado salad and the fried rice dishes. Those looked really good!

Hands down the best katsu curry I ever haad. Great service, wonderful relaxed atmosphere and surprisingly good quality. Definitely try the iberico pork katsu, it was amazing.
