Modern French restaurant

The Breton chicken was uncooked and pink inside. The restaurant was too noisy to have a conversation.

We had the pleasure of going here for lunch yesterday. The whole experience was exquisite. The food was just absolutely delicious - some really clever courses. The wine flight was really interesting and well thought through. It was my mums birthday and they made the whole experience magical. Can't wait to come here again! A bientôt

Atmosphere and service were excellent but as usual with high end places the food lets it down. I ordered the vegan French onion soup which I had to send back as was barely warm. There was also a minute amount in the bowl for the price. Tasty but very thick and unsubstantial. Came with a chunk of dry toasted bread but no oil, butter or other to put on it. Vegan burger was good but never sure why , for the price of £17 you don’t get any coleslaw or salad. Just burger and a few chips . That said very comfy and welcoming and the waiting staff weee faultless.

Fantastic hotel. Beautiful decor. Great breakfast. Perfect big warm bed. Shame it’s as little out of the centre of York but well worth it. Plus has parking

This was our first experience of a tasting menu and one that we really enjoyed. The food was presented beautifully and each course was carefully explained by the server. Some dishes really stood out over others, particularly the terrine and fish course, however we both found that some dishes were surprisingly lacking in flavour. We ordered the truffle dish (which had a supplementary charge of £25) and found it very disappointing and had only a very subtle truffle flavour despite the shavings on the top of the dish. It also lacked quite a bit of texture as it was presented as a creamy mousse.There was about 10-20 minutes between each course, however for one of the courses we waited over 40 minutes which felt a bit long. The dining room was relaxed and not too formal, but it was missing a little atmosphere. All in all it was a good experience with some unique dishes and concepts. There is also a fantastic selection of wines.

Delicious food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. 5 stars for Cote. The sea bass in red pepper butter with new potatoes and endive was particularly lush. It was lovely sitting with fabulous views of the Riverside all around us. We will return.

Honestly, the food here was quite good, but the service was brutal. This is BY FAR the worst starred restaurant I’ve eaten in. Total disappointment.We asked 4 times for a drink list. It only came AFTER we paid our bill. I found that so odd.The waitress accidentally spilled my water on me. Totally fine - these things happen! But then told us she’d have to charge us for more. Even though she knocked it over. Also, it’s just water, lady. You really need to charge?One dish was just dumped and not explained at all. Not the biggest deal, but just odd for a place of this caliber.It felt like there were a ton of staff, but none really knew what to do. It seemed uncoordinated.Again, no complaints about the food. Was it the best I’ve had? No. Not by any means. But it was good! I just feel this place is mismanaged and needs a shakeup.

We was very welcomed when we arrived. It was simple birthday dinner for two, but our table was decorated with small stars and birthday card was on the table with wishes from restaurant staff. Birthday person received glass of champagne. On the dessert they wrote happy birthday. We wasn't expecting anything, we was pleasantly surprised. Food delicious like always and generous portions. Best recommendations. This restaurant never disappointed us - food always delicious, service exceptional .

Terrific Sunday lunch with top class service at Cote Marlow. The saxophone player, further enhanced the already great atmosphere. The food was superb. Highly recommend the Breton fish stew and the Confit of duck. The dessert of warm almond cake with sour cherries and ice cream was out of this world. We were a party of three with one elderly and one disabled person - no problem at all. We all had a fabulous time. Thanks so much. We'll be back!
