Princess is a really great teacher, so patient and great at explaining things. I’ve really enjoyed my previous lessons and look forward to more in the future as I learn to make my first sweater.

Darn Knit Ltd
Sian and her team are always very friendly and accommodating - we've had numerous alterations for various items and have always been sew impressed by the efficiency and quality of their work. The shop is delightfully cosy and welcoming, with enticing displays of yarns and accessories. Darn Knit brightens up Mill Street - highly recommended!

Sew Knit Craft
I have found my home craft store here in Cambridge. The selection of yarn is fabulous, even when it comes to colour-matching yarn I bought years ago in Canada. They are always so friendly and ready to help with project ideas and advice. I recently took up knitting and they’ve set me up for success in my new fave craft with amazing needles, yarn, and crafting accessories. This is the only place I want to go for my yarn-craft needs! (They have an amazing fabric selection but I’m no seamstress, so I can’t comment too much!)

I was in need of some wool to finish a granny square blanket I’m making and found this shop via Google. I’ve just visited for the first time and know I will definitely be back again soon. What a wonderful shop! Lovely products and welcoming ladies ❤️

Alterknit Universe (Wool Shop)
Lovely little gem. If you are into knitting or felting, this a great place to go. The lady that attended me (Beverly) was very kind, looking for other wools for me in the stockroom and other ladies were chatting and knitting there on Sunday. I think you can have a tea or coffee and join them if you want.

Prior to Sylvia’s classes, I had just about learned to do a chain stitch, but every time I attempted anything further I would end up in a knot - and not be sure if it was the right kind of knot and If I just persisted I would end up with something that made sense.Sylvia’s class was wonderful for a first timer. I wanted a place to learn where I would get to have multiple weeks of consolidation rather than just one one off session for a few hours. Within the first week we’d all learned to do a treble stitch. I basically made a blanket practising after that. I found Sylvia’s methodical and careful nature really helpful to my practice - learning how to know if you’re skipping stitches is really useful, and also you never need to undo a lot of work to find your mistake usually which is the nice thing!By the end of the course we had learned to follow patterns and do at least 4-5 kinds of stitch (and also useful tying together ones like slip stitches!) and had made 2 granny squares in the course of about an hour.I could not recommend her class more highly. I am currently out of commission with corona, but when I’m back in action and at my hooks again I will be 100% taking another few lessons with Sylvia. She has truly gotten me…….hooked on crochet!!
